Mmmm io inserisco il cd, e poi seguo quello che mi dice di fare..
Collego il router al pc con il cavo ethernet e con l'altro cavo lo collego alla presa del telefono.. help!

Lascia perdere il CD di installazione.
Configura il modem direttamente da interfaccia web attraverso il browse.

Ragazzi ho un diavolo per capello con questo modem. Ho un problema ho una 20 mega, in wifi anche accanto al modem non supero i 5 mega, se spengo o riavvio il modem la velocità sale ma dopo 5 min in wifi non naviga a più di 4-5 mega, mentre col cavetto raggiungo benissimo 12 mega.
Capita anche a voi?

Pubblica i valori di linea misurati dal tuo router nella sezione Status.

Adesso non sono a casa, e non ti posso postare i valori di linea. Comunque la portante è circa 14 mega. Il sistema operativo è win vista, ma a casa abbiamo anche un'altro win 7, ma il problema è con tutti i pc. Con un'altro modem NETGEAR in wifi non perde nulla, sempre circa 12 mega, mentre con questo dlink più di 5 mega in wifi non va.
La versione del dlink è la 1.17

Hi, i don't speak italian but i still hope you can help me.

I need your help regarding a dlink dsl-2640 router. i followed this post and updated the firmware from my isp firmware to dlink 1.11. (also tried other firmware (1.17, 1.09). i used ftp to update the firmware because the web interface didnt allow me to.
The router works much more stable now than it did with the isp firmware but the issue is i cant get my iptv to work. ethernet ports 1,2 were assigned to pvc0 for internet access, and ports 3,4 to pvc1 for iptv, however there is no pvc1 in the new firmware. i tried to restore original isp settings and ports 3,4 seem to be assigned to pvc 1 but they are not because when i go to vlan index 2 there is no pvc1 under ATM VCs.
the iptv settop box tries to connect but it sais it is unable to communicate with the server at 95.128.232.4.

Current Firmware Version: EU_1.11
Hardware Version: B1

pc is running windows xp and is connected via ethernet cable to the router. Internet and wireless work great only problem is the iptv issue.

does anyone have any ideas?

To use IPTV on a normal router as DSL-2640R you need to handle multiple PVC to set and use a second connection.
You can do it via web configuration with your DSL-2640R only with these two firmware:

UK_1.06
EU_1.06

or with the other ones via Telnet commands!

Who is your ISP and What are its settings?

my isp is optima telecom (http://www.optima.hr/). the settings for pvc 1 are vpi/vci 0/37 in llc bridge mode as advised by isp customer service. pvc0 is ppoe internet connection and that is working fine. ethernet ports 3,4 are assigned to pvc1 and the stb is connected via ethernet cable to port 4 but it still gives me an error message that the server is not responding.


edit:

i managed to backup the isp firmware from my friends router so i flashed the isp firmware to the router and iptv works now. but i swear to god the settings are the same . i just dont get it.

i would really like to remove the isp firmware because its really a piece of crap (dhcp dies every 2 hours and i need to restart or assign manual ip which is annoying to do especially on my mobile phones because i use many different hotspots.)

Con speedtest.net e anche scaricando dei file da internet. In wifi non supera più di 400. Come si mette la versione 1.06 UE??
La scheda wirelles è quella del pc portatile stesso, un toschiba e un acer.

Can you tell us your firmware version? On the upper right corner of web configuration. And also the internal version via Telnet.

Sono nuovo, e mi complimento per quanto questo forum sia attivo.
Se l'avessi scoperto prima forse non sarei in questo pasticcio perchè mi sarei documentato...
La faccio breve.
Uso Linux, 10.04 per la precisione, non ho IE.
Ho upgradato il FW da 1.06 ad 1.09SE, usando Mozilla con SUN Java6 (solo con questa suite java funziona), tutto bene.
Il PC è connesso wired, la WLAN è disabilitata (non mi serve).
Ciò che mi servirebbe è poter attivare il servizio SSH remoto (per utilizzare il router da remoto con il pc spento), ma purtroppo questo non è presente nella configurazione del controllo di accesso remoto, dove trovo invece FTP, HTTP, ICMP, TELNET e TFTP.
E' solo un problema di Firmware? Upgrado a 11? 17? O proprio non si può fare?
Se avessi saputo di incontrare tutti questi problemi avrei cercato un 2640B, perchè so che con quel router il sevizio SSH remoto si può attivare...
